My cohort group and I are nearing the last week of our second semester (4th term). This means that 14 out of the 33 credits we need to graduate is getting done! The current class, EDCI 572 seemed to have gone by faster than usual. I know I am getting used to the 8-week term schedule and I'm maturing into my relationship with schoolwork, work-work, and home life. It's been an interesting journey for me. Earlier this term, I was feeling less motivated and couldn't keep my focus on my schoolwork. I couldn't read a paragraph of the Dick, Carey & Carey textbook to save my life! A couple fortunate things happened that got my engagement back.
- Group project - The team I was put into, the Californians as our professor called us, made up of three of the most excellent people I could wish to be part of a team! We worked well together and saw the same priorities and values in our project. That made the class more enjoyable - having others to lament our woes to and commiserating.
- My excellent coach - Tina Terry. During last month's session, she asked me what I wanted to talk about. The first thing that came to mind was motivation. Actually it was my lack of motivation. I told her how hard it was for me to keep my mind focused and that I was feeling a little angry about it. Being the great coach friend that Tina is, I was able to identify why I was feeling the way I did.
Next August I will be walking the stage in West Lafayette, Indiana and receiving my diploma.
