What you learned overall (about process or content), and how this will help you determine strategies for future group work?
One of my revelations is that I like to be in control. I did the initial contact email and set-up the WebEx meetings so we could discuss our plan. I even sent out notes regarding what was agreed on so that we all had the same understanding. You saw that when a new member was added to our team, I reached out to you to make sure this is how we were going to work. I realized that I am a super control freak and might over power my classmates and volunteer before others get a chance to. This is actually part of my normal work personae. I have been responsible for stakeholder client meetings and to keep them informed was to be very proactive about communication and consensus. So it was like autopilot for me to facilitate our collaboration.
For future group projects, I need to relax and allow others to contribute and initiate stuff. My enthusiasm and wanting things to look the way I think they should be was the reason I did the initial posting on the discussion board. I get a little perturbed when classmates don’t use the add link to their URLs and get further annoyed when they don’t check the “open in a new window” box… As you see, I have a problem!
